Article and photo by D.J. Estopinal On an internet site named, “Bible Study Tools” part of the definition of an Angel is: “Their general purpose is to declare and promote God’s will.” There is a group of Good Shepherd Church Angels, (Mothers and teenagers) that do necessary work for us Sunday after Sunday, week after week. They never ask to be compensated for their work. They never even ask to be recognized for the necessary job that they do. They happily do their volunteer job, never complaining with an almost non-existent budget to operate with. Often these Good Shepherd Angels purchase items that they need to do their jobs out of their own pockets, never asking to be reimbursed. These Mothers and teenagers are the ladies of our church that teach our children and grandchildren about Jesus Christ in Sunday School and baby sit the infants in the nursery every Sunday, while we attend church service. These dedicated ladies are:
Sunday School Mrs. Renee’ Graf is the Christian Ed Director. She is not only in charge of the Christian Education program for Good Shepherd Church but is also a full-time teacher at John Curtis Christian School and has been teaching for over 25 years. Mrs. Debbie Volk is the Sunday School teacher of the 2 to 4 year old children of the church. Mrs. Volk is also a full-time school teacher at John Curtis Christian School. She has been teaching Sunday School for over 50 years. Mrs. Heidi Lagarde is the Sunday School Teacher for the 3rd to 6th Grade students. She is a full-time school teacher at Jefferson Elementary School. She has been a Sunday School Teacher for over 10 years. Nursery The volunteer teenagers that take care of the infants in the church’s nursery are: Miss Madison Graf, Miss Haley LeGarde and Miss Karah Hotard. If you have not noticed, these ladies do such a great job teaching our children and grandchildren in the word of the Lord, the children eagerly look forward to attending Sunday School. Pay attention next Sunday to how enthusiastically all of the church’s children go with these ladies to Sunday School and the Nursery after Pastor's children's time. Our children and grandchildren are the future of not only our church but of Christianity. Our children and grandchildren will be our legacy. So, the next time you see one of our ladies that work with the children and grandchildren in Sunday School and the Nursery, be sure to thank them. Tell them how much they are appreciated for the job they do so very well Sunday after Sunday. Well done ladies and thank you very much for all of your repetitive hard work and dedication.
