]]><![CDATA[River Boat Jubilee Cruise]]>Tue, 17 Mar 2026 05:00:00 GMThttps://www.goodshepherdmet.com/good-shepherd-news/river-boat-jubilee-cruiseAs we celebrate the 50th Anniversary Jubilee of Good Shepherd, please make plans to join us for our parish riverboat cruise on April 11 at 11:30 AM. We will be sailing on the City of New Orleans for a time of fellowship and a buffet lunch on the water.

To ensure we secure our group reservation, we must provide the cruise line with a final headcount and payment by the end of March. Because of this, we require your reservation and payment in full at the time of sign-up.

Please visit the parish office or the sign-up table in the narthex to register. The final deadline for all payments and reservations is Friday, March 28.

Ticket Information
• Adults: $58.50 (includes lunch)
• Children (6–12): $33.00 (with lunch) or $21.00 (without lunch)
• Children (Under 6): Free with a paid adult

]]><![CDATA[Our New Morning Prayer]]>Wed, 11 Mar 2026 18:00:28 GMThttps://www.goodshepherdmet.com/good-shepherd-news/our-new-morning-prayerOn the first Sunday of Lent, Good Shepherd began offering the Office of Morning Prayer at 8:30 AM. Although not intended to by a stand-alone service, it does provide the worshiper an early option if their schedule precludes the 10:00 AM Holy Eucharist. But our real hope is that one would choose to come to Morning Prayer and remain for our Holy Eucharist at 10:00 AM.  This will give the worshiper a deep dive experience for the day. 

Additionally, Morning Prayer each Sunday also gives some of our yet-to-be ordained postulants (ie., Ashton and Aiden) an opportunity to sharpen their homiletics by bringing the message.

This milestone is more than a look back at our history; it is a celebration of the faithfulness of God that has sustained this parish for half a century.

We invite the entire parish family to join us as we begin this landmark year. The day will commence with a celebratory service of worship at 10:00 AM, where we will gather to offer our thanks for the generations of saints who have called Good Shepherd home.

Following the service, we will hold our Annual Meeting. This is a vital time for us to reflect on the past year and look forward with hope to the work ahead.

The highlight of our afternoon will be the official opening of the 2001 Time Capsule. It has been twenty-five years since these items were tucked away, and we look forward to discovering the messages and mementos left for us by those who walked these halls before us.

Light refreshments will be served as we share stories and fellowship. At that time, we will open our time capsule that was locked away in a wall back in 2006!
