In the Book of Acts, we see the apostles commit to prayer for the nine days between the Ascension of our Lord and the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. This has been the model in Christianity for the nine day prayer devotion known as a novena (which means "nine" in Latin).
Beginning on Friday, May 27 (the day after the Ascension), volunteers from Good Shepherd Church will be praying a Novena to the Holy Spirit in advance of Pentecost (June 5). For those who sign up, each morning between May 27 and June 4 they will receive an email with the novena prayers to pray. The prayers will take about 9 minutes and to make it even easier, each email will not only include the prayers written out but will include a link to an audio file that the one praying can listen to and pray along with. To sign up to receive these nine emails and be a part of our virtual novena team, please use the following link: https://www.goodshepherdmet.com/holy-spirit-novena.html
