Earlier this week, Good Shepherd Church was able to secure approximately 500 pounds of frozen chicken and placed them in the two new deep freezers we secured last week as part of our diocese's Hurricane Ida Relief efforts.
On Saturday, October 16, we will be sending a team of volunteers from Good Shepherd to Norco, LA. There we will meet up with volunteers from Holy Cross Anglican in Baton Rouge, Trinity Anglican in Lafayette, and members of the diocese who are coming in from Texas. Together, we're going to grill the chicken and with the assistance of Trinity Anglican's mobile kitchen truck, we'll also prepare various sides and serve meals to the good people of that area that have been so dramatically impacted by Hurricane Ida. If you would like more information on this October 16 event or know that you would like to volunteer to help us cook and/or serve the meals Norco, please let Fr. Randall or Fr. Jim know.
