Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018, was an especially meaningful and eventful day at Good Shepherd Church.
Easter Sunday started out with the children of the church congregation decorating a five-foot-tall wooden cross before church service begin. The cross looked beautiful, being completely covered in a multitude of various colored fresh flowers. At the beginning of the Easter Church service, the children who decorated the cross, formed a procession and carried the flowered covered cross into the church sanctuary. They placed the cross at the front of the sanctuary, to the left of the alter. (See Photo # 1 Below)
Playing the piano for the Easter Church service was Ms. Jeannette Thompson. In a conversation with Ms. Thompson, she said that she had a Masters Degree in Music from the University of Nebraska. Ms. Thompson stated that she currently works at Tulane University as a Liberian. Part of her duties is to catalog all of the incoming music for Tulane University. Ms. Thompson stated that she was not interested in the full-time music directors position at Good Shepherd Church. (See Photo # 2 Below)
The front of the sanctuary looked especially beautiful, this Easter Sunday, with the addition of numerous donated potted fresh Easter Lilies at the front of the alter. (See Photo # 3 Below)
Pastor Randall Graf’s Easter Sermon about or Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, rising for the dead, was especially meaningful on this solemn yet joyful day. Pastor Randy has a special appeal with the youth of the church. (See Photo # 4 Below)
Upon Easter Church service being completed, the children of the congregation gathered outside of the church and had an enjoyable time having an Easter Egg hunt. Every child found a plethora of plastic Easter Eggs. The plastic Easter Eggs were filled with various types of wrapped candy. (See Photo # 5 Below)
