Article and Photos by D.J. Estopinal Again, this year we had a great Black and Gold Sunday event. There was a very large church parishioner turnout. Everyone that attended appeared to have had a great time. There was more food than everyone could eat. The ladies of our church outdid themselves again in cooking all the delicious food. After everyone finished eating, we watched the New Orleans Saint’s verses Jacksonville football game, in which the Saint’s beat Jacksonville 13 to 6, on three large screen TVs. There were some very questionable calls by the N. F. L. referees against the Saint’s during the game but that seems to be the norm these days! During half time, the winners of the raffle for the large screen T. V. and four gift cards were drawn. The winners are: Gwen Martinez won the Grand Prize of a large screen, 55-inch, TV. Gwen Martinez was not present at the time of the drawing to receive her TV. Mrs. Renda Coleman won a “Applebee’s” gift card, she was also not present to receive her gift card. Pattie Cohn won an “IHOP” gift card. Mrs. Renee’ Frilot Graf won a “Semolina” gift card. Reverend Randall Graf won an “Outback” gift card. D. J. Estopinal, won an “Olive Garden” gift card. All of the winning ticket stubs were picked by the young children of the church. The church raised $1,120 on this raffle for the general fund. We all need to give a special thank you to Mrs. Sandi Graci and Graci Real estate and Appraisal for donating ALL of the above items that were raffled for this year’s Black and Gold Sunday.
We also need to thank Mr. Joe Deibel who did an excellent job at selling raffle tickets and managing the raffle for the church. We then had the drawing for the 50/50 tickets sold at the Black and Good Sunday event. Carla Scallan won the drawing and received $96.00 in cash. The church also made $96.00 for the general fund. Congratulations to all of the winners.
