Novena Starts Friday

Good Shepherd will once again offer our pre-Pentecost Novena to the Holy Spirit. Participants will receive an email each morning for nine days--May 19 through May 27--with the printed words and a link to an audio to pray along with.

• The Book of Acts tells us that after the Ascension of our Lord, the disciples spent nine days praying for the coming of the Holy Spirit, a manifestation they witnessed at Pentecost. As such, we too as modern day disciples will commit to pray for nine minutes each day for nine days using the beautiful liturgy or the Novena to the Holy Spirit from the Anglican devotion known as the St. Augustine Prayer Book.
