Recently, 13 men of the church came together and formed “The Good Shepherd Church Men’s Club”.
At the first meeting of the “Men’s Club”, it was decided by the charter members of the club, that the purpose of the organization would be to raise money, through various fund raising activities, in order to accomplish high priority church projects that Good Shepherd Church does not have money on-hand to do. Potential projects include repairing the fascia on the exterior of the sanctuary that had come down several years ago and never been repaired and replacing the Good Shepherd Church sign in front of the church. The wooden posts holding the sign have rotted away in the ground and the sign is leaning and going to fall down soon if not replaced. And there are many more.
It was agreed upon by the members that the Men’s Club that they would organize fund raising activities but it would take the entire congregations working together on these fund raising activities in order to raise the needed moneys to accomplish any specific project.
None of the money raised by the Men’s Club will be used for anything except on the stated goal of that specific fund raiser.
The above seemed to be exactly what Good Shepherd Church needs. This way needed projects could be funded and completed without the church spending any of it general funds to accomplish them. The church could then concentrate on spending its general funds on reoccurring expenses to operate the church.
The Men’s Club respectfully ask for assistance from ALL of the members of Good Shepherd Church to get involved in these fund-raising projects so that we can raise the needed money, not for the Men’s Club, but for projects that are badly needed by our church.
I am sure that you have many questions about what I have written above. If you do, please speak with me or any of the officers of the Men’s Club or the Pastor to see if they can answer your questions.
Just remember that we do not have a set of instructions on how to do all of the above. We are making them up as we go along. Yes, we will make some questionable decisions in the process but we have all of the good intentions in the world to make our church a greater one. Please help us!
