Next Sunday, November 26, is Christ the King Sunday, marking the last Sunday of the Church Year when we also celebrate Totenfest by remembering those from our families and family of faith who have returned home to the Lord in the previous Church Year.
If you would like a name included in the Totenfest Memorial, please add it to the list in the narthex. This Saturday, October 28, Good Shepherd will host our annual Trunk or Treat in the church parking lot from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Vehicles and volunteers are asked to begin arriving between 4:00 and 4:30 PM for set up. We can always use extra volunteers, so even if you didn't sign up to work it, please consider coming out, bringing some candy, and showing your support as we welcome the community to our event. October is coming to a close. Please bring in your donations of new socks this Sunday!
Each night in the United States, an estimated 600,000 people live on the streets and in shelters. All socks collected will be donated to Grace at the Greenlight and other shelters. Let’s work together and collect those socks!!! If you have any questions, please speak to Kelly Frilot or Scott Ball. Our annual Trunk or Treat will be held on Saturday, October 28 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
There are two sign up sheets in the narthex. We need volunteers to sign up to bring their vehicles to pass out candy AND we need volunteers to help with other activities such as greeters, face painters, popcorn/drinks server, etc. Also, if you are unable to attend but would still like to help, please consider bringing some candy to church to be given out to children attending our event. This Sunday, October 15 is Black & Gold Sunday at church! Wear your black and gold to church on Sunday and bring a dish to share as we'll gather for potluck and football after the 10:00 AM service.
The October edition of the Shepherd's Voice Newsletter is now available for download. Hard copies may also be found in the narthex of the church.
Mark your calendars for our annual Pet Blessing at Good Shepherd. Our Blessing of the Animals will be held THIS Saturday, October 7 at 10:30 AM in the parking lot.
Red Letter Holy Days for September include Holy Cross Day on Thursday, September 14 and Feast Day of Holy Michael and All Angels on Friday, September 29. Join us in person or online as we commemorate these Red Letter Holy Days with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist each feast day at 12:15 PM.
The next meeting of the Mothers Prayer Group will be on Tuesday, September 19 at 7:00 PM in the sanctuary. For more information, please see Gwen Martinez.
